International rugby is about so much more than rivalry; it’s an opportunity to showcase top-level players, bring home a trophy and score those all-important points. All of this is essential to World Rugby Rankings, as the system orders teams based on their match results.

In the World Rugby Rankings, points are awarded for international matches that are recognised by World Rugby. The system operates via a points exchange process, whereby the winners of a match gains points, while the losing team loses points. Additionally, the rankings have been designed to reflect the current strength and performance of international rugby teams, so it’s possible for a team to climb from the bottom to the top.

Would you like to predict which team will top the rankings this year? Want to voice your opinion on the current international rugby standings? Let us know what you think by using our interactive voting tool or leave a comment to engage with our global rugby community.
