Jonathan Davies

Jonathan Davies is a star of Welsh rugby. As a powerful centre who is an ever present for Scarlets and Wales, he’s one of the finest players of his generation who is known for his opportunistic try scoring, physical presence and defensive marshalling. Jonathan Davies was inducted into the RugbyPass Hall of Fame in 2021.

Born 5 April 1988, Jonathan Davies is affectionately known as ‘Fox’. This differentiates him from the other Jonathan Davies, who played rugby union and rugby league in the 1980s and 90s.

Jonathan Davies began playing rugby union professionally for Llanelli in 2006. However, between then and 2008, he only made 14 appearances for the side. At the domestic level, Jonathan Davies is best known for his time with the Scarlets. To date, he’s made more than 150 appearances for the team across two different spells, capturing the PRO12 (now the United Rugby Championship) in the process. During his domestic career, he also represented Clermont Auvergne between 2014 and 2016.

Thanks to his impressive performances for Llanelli, the Scarlets and Clermont Auvergne, Jonathan Davies has represented Wales almost 100 times since he made his debut for the side in 2009. In addition to this, due to his standout performances for Wales at the international level, Jonathan Davies was selected for the 2013 and 2017 British and Irish Lions tours. On these tours, he was capped six times.
