Neve Jones and Beibhinn Parsons both score twice as Ireland thrash Colombia
Neve Jones and Beibhinn Parsons crossed for a brace each as Ireland ran in 10 tries to record a comprehensive 64-3 victory in their first international match against Colombia.
Natasja Behan, Meabh Deely, Grace Moore, Brittany Hogan and co-captain Edel McMahon also scored a try apiece – as well as player of the match Jones – as Ireland took a 38-0 lead into the break, with Dannah O’Brien adding the extras.
Fiona Tuite and Clara Barrett made their debuts for Ireland in the second half as they continued to extend their lead through Parsons’ double, a second for Jones and Leah Tarpey’s score.
Colombia showed their fighting spirit to get on the scoreboard with a Maria Arzuaga penalty but it was too little, too late as Ireland claimed their second WXV 3 2023 victory in Dubai to set up a winner-takes-all encounter with Spain next Saturday.

The weather was dreadful but the playing surface was great so there is no real excuse for such another poor standard of play from both sides. Dragons just the better team. But, what a shocking decision by the TMO not to award the Fifita try. This pretty much sums up Welsh rugby with poor teams and poor officials. The WRU have a lot of work to do and it needs to be done quickly to avoid rugby being lost to our future generations.

SB revival of Leicester was based on SA muscle and a terrific Welsh flanker he has generally ignored young English talent.
